Out here in Rajamundam, things move a bit slower. Uteivalley Farmers Producer Company Limited is our way of keeping the local farming community connected. We operate from Iswar Sahu’s place in the Rampur area of Kalahandi. If you know this part of the country, you know the soil can be tough, but it gives back if you treat it right. We aren't some big group with offices in the city. We are just farmers who decided it was time to work under one name. Most days, you’ll find us out in the fields rather than sitting behind a desk. We deal with whatever the season brings, whether it's the monsoon rains or the dry heat that Kalahandi is known for. It’s not easy work. There’s always something breaking or a crop that isn’t doing as well as we hoped. We help each other out with seeds and advice on what’s working. By pooling our resources, we manage to get better supplies than we could on our own. It’s a practical arrangement. We don't use big words or have complicated plans. We just want to make sure our harvests reach the market and that our families are taken care of. It’s about staying rooted here in Rajamundam and making the most of what we have. People here know us, and we know them. That’s how we like to keep things. It is basically just us doing our best.
