Sureswari Farmer Producer Company Limited is based out of Kalopatra, specifically at Sahadev Guru’s place in the Badmal area. We are a group of farmers who decided it was better to work as one unit instead of everyone doing their own thing separately. It started small and it still feels that way most days. Our office is just a regular spot where we meet up to discuss the crops and what needs doing for the next season. Being in Badmal, we know most of the families around here. Farming is what we know, so we don't try to act like we are something else. There’s a lot of back and forth between the members about irrigation or where to get the best supplies. Sahadev Guru’s location is where the records are kept and where we handle the business side of things. It’s nothing fancy, just a room with enough space for us to sit down. The work is steady and sometimes quite tiring, especially when harvest time rolls around and everyone is busy at once. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. We just focus on the soil and what we can grow. If someone needs to find us, they just ask for the place in Kalopatra. It’s been a good way for the local growers to stay connected and help each other out when things get tough with the weather or the market.
