Dokri Devi Producer Company Limited is based out of Atigaon in the Junagarh area. You can find us at Suruchi Padhan’s place, which is in Ward No-7. We are deep in Kalahandi, and anyone who knows this district knows that agriculture is the backbone of everything here. We are a producer company, which basically means we are a bunch of local people working together to handle what the land gives us. Our office is simple and stays quite busy with people coming in and out all day. There is usually a lot of talk about the rains and the market prices. We don't have a lot of fancy equipment or a polished way of speaking. We just tell it like it is. If the crop is bad, we worry together, and if it is good, we work twice as hard to get it moved. Kalahandi can be a tough place to work because of the weather, but we are used to it by now. We spend a lot of time checking on the quality of what the members are bringing in. It’s a lot of dusty work and long hours during the peak times. We aren't trying to impress anyone; we are just trying to make sure the business stays solvent and the produce doesn't go to waste. It’s a practical life, and we are just regular folks doing our part.
