Vinod Textile Mills

Being over at E-14 in Basni Phase II means we are right in the thick of things in Jodhpur. Vinod Textile Mills has been sitting on this plot for a good long time. It’s a bit of a loud place because the machines stay running most of the day. You get used to the rhythm of it after a few hours. The walls have seen a lot of seasons, and the paint is peeling in a few spots, but the equipment is what matters. We handle a lot of different textiles here. Sometimes it’s chaotic when a big shipment comes in and there isn't much space to move around the floor. We just push things aside and make it work. Most of our workers live nearby, so there’s always someone coming or going. The tea guy comes around twice a day, and that’s when everything stops for ten minutes. We’ve got these old looms that make a specific clacking sound. You can hear it from the end of the street when the wind is right. It’s a lot of work to keep them maintained, but we do most of the repairs ourselves with some oil and basic tools. We don't really follow a strict corporate schedule. If the work is there, we stay late. The walls inside are covered in years of lint and dust, no matter how much we sweep. It’s a simple setup in this corner of the industrial area.
