Chundri Ghar Textiles

We are located in the Heavy Industrial Area, specifically at 57(A). It’s a big space because textiles need a lot of room for the looms and the washing vats. The air in here usually smells like dyes and steam, which you get used to after the first week. It’s a very physical job, moving heavy rolls of fabric from one side of the floor to the other. Most of our staff have been with us for a long time; they know the rhythm of the machines better than anyone. The floors are often stained with different colors, which is just a sign of all the work we’ve done over the months. We don’t have a fancy boutique front; we are more of a production house. You’ll see stacks of cloth piled high towards the ceiling and workers busy checking for flaws in the weave. It’s a loud environment, so we mostly communicate with hand signals or by shouting over the noise of the motors. Lunch breaks are usually spent sitting on the loading dock catching a bit of fresh air before heading back into the heat. We don't worry about being polished or having a clean office. As long as the fabric is coming out right and the orders are packed up for the trucks, we are happy. It’s a tough business but we enjoy the process of seeing a plain thread turn into something colorful.
