Marwar Exports

Out here in the Heavy Industrial Area, things are mostly about grit and getting the work done. Our place is at 9-A. If you come by in the afternoon, the sun is usually beating down on the tin roofs of the sheds, making it pretty hot inside. Marwar Exports isn't a showroom with glass windows and air conditioning. It’s a functional space with high ceilings and heavy doors. You’ll see trucks lined up on the road outside, waiting to load or unload big crates. The air is often thick with the smell of diesel and metal. Inside, the floor is concrete and usually has some scuff marks from moving heavy machinery and boxes around. We have a small corner screened off with some plywood that serves as the office area. That's where the paperwork happens, though it’s always a bit dusty. Jodhpur can be a tough place to work in the summer, but we just keep the big fans going. There’s no fancy signage out front, just the number 9-A on the gate. We spend our days checking manifests and making sure the packing is done right so nothing breaks on the way out. It’s loud, it’s busy, and there’s always something that needs fixing. We drink a lot of water and try to get the heavy lifting done before the midday heat gets too bad. It’s just how things go in this part of town, focusing on the tasks at hand until the day is over.
