Blue City Export

Down in Kamla Nehru Nagar, you'll find us at D-200. Blue City Export is the name on the papers, and it’s a busy little corner of the world. Jodhpur is known as the Blue City, and we feel like a real part of it here. The sun hits the front of the building pretty hard in the morning, so we usually keep the shutters half-down to stay cool. There are always boxes stacked up near the entrance, waiting for the trucks to come by. We spend a lot of time checking lists and making sure the items are wrapped properly so nothing breaks on the way. It’s mostly just us and the sound of tape dispensers and the occasional truck backing into the lane. The neighbors at Kamla Nehru Nagar are mostly quiet businesses, so we get along fine. We don’t have a big reception area or anyone to greet you with a tray of water. It’s more of a place where people are busy moving things and writing on clipboards. Sometimes the dust from the road gets inside, but we just sweep it out and keep going. It’s honest work, exporting things from our little spot in India to places far away. We’ve been at this address for a good bit of time, and the walls have seen a lot of crates come and go. It’s just a regular day-to-day routine for everyone here.
