Down here at 33, Rajendra Nagar in Sakchi, things stay pretty busy throughout the week. Jamshedpur is a town that knows its industry, and being part of Lafarge India Pvt. Ltd. means we are right in the thick of it. The office is located in a spot that’s easy enough for people to find once they get into the Sakchi area. We’ve got a small team here. Most days start with us opening up the shutters and getting the fans going because it gets quite stuffy otherwise. We handle a lot of paperwork related to the local construction projects happening around the city. It’s not the kind of place where you’ll find plush carpets or expensive art on the walls. It’s just a working office with sturdy tables and a few old computers that occasionally give us trouble. We talk to drivers, check on delivery schedules, and try to make sure everything matches up with what the main office expects. Lunch is usually something quick brought from home, eaten while we discuss the local news or the weather. The neighborhood has changed a bit over the years, with more shops opening up, but our routine stays mostly the same. We focus on the basics of the job and try to get home before the evening rush becomes too much to handle. It’s a straightforward life here, just keeping the business running as best as we can without making things too complicated for anyone.
