Aaliya Traders

Being in Sakchi is always a bit of a whirlwind every single day. Our shop, Aaliya Traders, is at number 8 C in the Supermarket area. If you know Jamshedpur at all, you know how packed this place gets, especially on the weekends when everyone is out. We are right near the Shiv Mandir, so we hear the temple bells and the prayers throughout the morning and evening. It actually makes the workplace feel a bit more peaceful despite the crowds of shoppers outside. The shop itself is quite small. We have shelves packed all the way to the ceiling with whatever we are stocking at the time. Sometimes it feels like there isn't enough room to breathe when it gets crowded, but we make it work somehow. Customers are always coming and going. Some just stop by to say hello because they've been buying from us for a decade. We don't have a marketing department or any kind of polished brand. It’s just us. We use a lot of handwritten notes and an old calculator on the counter. The floor is a bit worn out from all the walking, but that just shows how many people come in to see us. Sometimes the heat in the market is a bit much, but we have a small fan that does its best. We just try to be fair with everyone and keep things moving.
