We are set up at Gat Number 531 in Hadgaon, which is in the Ambad area of Jalna. It’s a rural spot, as you might guess from the address. We focus on organic farming because that’s what we decided was better for our land around here after seeing the soil get tired. There are a lot of us involved, all local farmers from the village and nearby areas. Our office, if you can call it that, is just a room where we keep our records and meet to talk about the soil. Jalna can get very dry, so we spend a lot of time discussing water and how to keep the plants alive without using too many chemicals. It’s not a fancy operation. We don't have a website or anything like that usually. We just talk to each other face to face. When it's time to harvest, everybody is out in the fields from dawn until the light fades. We bring the produce back to Ghu. Hadgaon to get it ready for the markets. Sometimes things don't go to plan, like when the pests get into a crop or the price drops suddenly at the mandi. That's just part of the life we chose. We’re just trying to do things a bit differently by staying away from the heavy chemicals. It's a bit more work, but we think it's the right way to treat the ground we live on and feed our families.
