Vaishnav Engg. Works

Vaishnav Engg. Works is situated out by the Tanda Road By-Pass. It’s a good spot for us because the big trucks can pull in and out without getting stuck in the city traffic. Being near the bypass means it is always a bit noisy with the vehicles zooming past, but you get used to it after a week or two. We do a lot of mechanical work here. There is always the smell of engine oil and metal shavings on the floor. Our building is nothing special to look at, just a sturdy place where we can run our machines. Most of the guys here have been doing this for years, so they know the sounds of the equipment better than anything. We don’t really do meetings or anything like that. We just show up, look at what needs to be fixed or made, and get to it. Sometimes we stay late if a job is proving difficult, but usually, we like to get out before the sun goes down completely. Tanda Road can be quite dark at night. We keep the tools organized as much as possible, though the wrenches always seem to go missing when you need them most. It’s just a normal engineering workshop where we try to do the job right without any fuss or drama. It’s a bit messy, but it’s our way of working. Anyway, we keep the gate open most of the day for deliveries.
