Krishna Engineering Works Limited has been based on Ladowali Road for quite some time. If you drive down this way, you can’t really miss the sound of the shop in full swing. We aren't a new startup with a bunch of investors; we are just a long-standing engineering firm that knows the business well. Our floors are usually stained with oil and there’s metal shavings in the corners, which is how a real workshop should look. We take on various engineering projects, mostly focusing on the things that require a steady hand and a lot of experience. The people who work here aren’t wearing suits; they are in their work clothes, focusing on the machines. We’ve seen a lot of people come and go on Ladowali Road, but we’ve managed to keep our doors open by just staying consistent. We don’t make big claims about being the leaders of anything. We just take the drawings we are given and turn them into something real. It’s a lot of repetitive work, but we find the rhythm of it helps us stay focused. There’s a certain satisfaction in finishing a difficult piece of machining and seeing it sit there on the bench ready to go. We don’t spend money on marketing because we’d rather spend it on better blades or keeping the power on. The neighbors around Ladowali Road are mostly other businesses like ours, so we all get along and help each other out with advice when needed. It’s just a plain, honest engineering shop.
