Kashmiri Lal

My name is Kashmiri Lal and I am stationed at the M O Mini Phc over in Kot Badal Khan. We are located in the Jalandhar district, specifically under the 144039 pin code. It’s a small primary health center, nothing like the big hospitals you see in the middle of Jalandhar City. Because we are in Kot Badal Khan, the pace is a bit different. I deal with a lot of local villagers who have known me for a long time. My office is small and the walls are a simple white. I’ve got a wooden desk that has seen better days, but it’s sturdy. Working in a mini PHC means you have to be ready for anything that walks through the door. I don't have a lot of fancy equipment here, so we rely on what we know and the basic tools we have. I usually arrive early to open the gates and get the registers ready. The air out here is a bit fresher than in the city, which I appreciate. Sometimes the rain makes the road to the center a bit muddy, but people still make it in. I don’t believe in making things more complicated than they need to be. It’s about helping people with their health and then sending them home. I’ve spent most of my career in these kinds of settings. It feels good to be where you are actually needed by the community.
