You’ll find us over at A-22-D in Indra Puri Colony, which is right by Lal Kothi and Tonk Road. It’s a decent area, though the parking can be a bit of a headache if you come at the wrong time of day. Village Art Palace isn’t really a palace, that’s just the name on the sign outside. It’s actually more like a big house filled with all sorts of items we’ve gathered over the years. My family has been doing this for a long time, so there’s stuff tucked into every corner. Some of the shelves have a bit of dust on them because there is just so much to look after. We spend a lot of time just sorting through things and talking to people who stop by. Tonk Road is always noisy, but once you step inside the colony, it gets a little quieter. We usually have the radio playing in the background while we pack orders or check the inventory. It’s not a polished showroom where everything is perfectly lit. It’s just a place where we keep our stock and do our business. We handle a lot of local art pieces and things people like to put in their homes. Most of our day is spent on the phone or writing out lists. It’s practical work. We like being in this part of town because it feels lived-in and real.
