Vaibhav Art Gallery is situated over in Brahmpuri, right near the Dushera Kothi on Amer Road. We’ve been at 54 B for quite a while now. The shop is filled with all sorts of things, from small trinkets to bigger pieces that take up a lot of floor space. It’s a bit of a maze inside because we keep adding new stock whenever we find something interesting. There’s always a bit of dust on the shelves no matter how much we wipe them down, just because of the location and the old building. We spend most of our time talking to people who wander in while they’re visiting the nearby temples or heading toward the fort. It’s not a high-pressure environment; we usually just let people walk around and look at the colors and the woodwork. Sometimes we sit out front when it’s quiet and watch the traffic go by on Amer Road. It gets very busy during the festival seasons, especially around Dushera because of where we are located. We do our own packing and sometimes the boxes pile up in the corner before the courier comes. It’s a family-run sort of thing, so there’s always someone around to help if you have a question about where a piece came from. We aren't experts in every single thing, but we know what we like and we enjoy showing the stuff to whoever stops by.
