The Udaipur Art Gallery

You can find us at 55 Amer Road, right near the Jal Mahal Palace. It’s a famous spot, so people are always walking by, especially tourists who are coming to see the palace or the gardens. The Udaipur Art Gallery is situated just opposite Golimar Garden. It’s a busy street, but once you step inside, it’s a bit different. We have a lot of pieces hanging up, and some leaning against the walls because we ran out of space a long time ago. We aren’t experts in suits; we’re just people who like looking at art and talking to whoever wanders in. Sometimes people just want to get out of the sun for a few minutes, and that’s fine too. We don’t pressure anyone to buy anything. Most of our days are spent dusting frames or moving things around to make room for something new. The light comes in through the front windows in the morning and hits the colors just right. It’s a nice way to spend the day. We get a mix of locals and folks from far away. Everyone has a different opinion on what looks good. We just listen and keep the place open. Amer Road is always loud with the sounds of horns and people talking, but inside here, it feels like a different world entirely. We’ve been across from the garden for years now and it has definitely become our second home.
