You can find Star Murti Museum over at Chandpole Bazar. We are right at the Tisra Choraya, which is a busy intersection. The shop is full of statues and figures made from different materials. It gets a bit dusty with all the stone work around. We spend our time cleaning the pieces and showing them to whoever walks in. Some of the statues are quite heavy, so we have to be careful when moving them around the floor. It’s a family-run kind of thing. We’ve been at this crossroads for a long time. The sound of the traffic outside is constant. Sometimes people just stop by to look because they’re curious. We don’t mind. We have all kinds of sizes, from small ones you can hold to big ones that need a few people to lift. The lighting in the back isn't the best, but we make do. We don't use any fancy sales talk. If someone likes a piece, they buy it. We spend our mornings setting things up and our evenings covering them back up. It’s steady work. The stone feels cool even when it’s hot outside. We aren't a big museum like the ones in books, just a local shop with a lot of statues. It’s just what we do here at the third crossing, day after day, keeping the history alive in stone.
