Sona Arts

We are over at 61, Shri Ram Nagar in Jhotwara. Our place is quite easy to find since we are near the Adarash Vidhya Mandir School. You can hear the kids playing during their breaks, which adds a bit of life to the day. We do various types of art work here, though it’s more of a workshop than a gallery. There are always brushes, paints, and different materials scattered around. We try to keep it somewhat tidy, but when you are in the middle of a project, things get messy. It’s just a few of us working away. We don’t have a big corporate setup. Most of the time we’re just focusing on the details of whatever piece is in front of us. Some days are slow and we just sit and talk, and other days we’re rushing to get something finished. The light in the front part of the shop is good in the morning, so that’s when we do the most delicate work. Being in a residential-style neighborhood like Shri Ram Nagar makes it feel a bit more relaxed than being in the city center. We know most of the people who walk by, and they often peak in to see what we’re making. It’s a decent way to earn a living, doing something with our hands. We don't spend money on advertising; we just let the work be what it is.
