Our shop, Shri Tarkeshwar Bags, sits near the Tripoliya Gate in Tripoliya Bazar. It’s a very old part of the city, and we feel like we are part of the history here. Being at number 259 means we see a lot of tourists and locals passing by every single day. The area is always noisy with the sounds of the market, which we’ve grown to love over the years. We sell all kinds of bags, from the ones you’d use for shopping to ones for special occasions. The shop isn't very wide, but it goes back a fair way. We have stuff hanging from the ceiling and stacked on the floor sometimes. It’s a bit of a squeeze when more than three people are inside at once. We don't have a website or anything fancy; we just rely on people walking by and seeing what we have in the window. Sometimes the heat in the summer makes it a bit tough, but we have a fan that keeps the air moving. We spend a lot of time talking to other shopkeepers nearby. We all know each other and help out when needed. When we get a new shipment of bags, we have to carry them through the crowded streets, which is a bit of a workout. It’s just a simple life here in the bazaar. We stay open late most nights because that's when the market is most alive and the air is a bit cooler. We hope people find us.
