Prakash Bag Co is located at 437 Chandpole Bazar. Being in the bazar means there is never a dull moment. You can hear the sounds of the market from early morning until late at night. Our shop at 437 is where we keep all our stock. There are bags everywhere you look, from the floor to the rafters. It is a bit of a tight squeeze when we get a new shipment in, but we manage to find a place for everything eventually. We don't have a polished way of doing things. We just open up, sweep the front, and get to work. Most of our day is spent talking to people who are walking through the bazar. Some are just looking and others need something sturdy for travel or school. We don't have any fancy brochures or big advertisements. We just rely on the fact that we have been at this address for a long time and people know where to find us. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but we are usually too busy to get around to it. We keep our records in a big ledger and try to keep things simple. It’s a straightforward way to live. When it gets dark, we pull down the metal shutters and head home like everyone else in Chandpole Bazar. It’s not a glamorous life, but it is ours and we are used to it.
