Satya Narayan Amar Seat Repairing is right there at 40 Hawa Mahal Bazar. We are on the main Hawa Mahal Road, so we see a lot of tourists and traffic every single day. But our real business is with the people who need their scooter or bike seats fixed. We’ve been doing this for a long time now. The shop is small and full of foam, leather scraps, and heavy-duty sewing machines. It’s usually a bit messy with pieces of fabric on the floor, but that’s just the nature of the work. People bring in their old torn seats, and we strip them down and put on new covers. It’s satisfying to see something old look decent again. Sometimes we do custom cushions for people who want a bit more comfort on their daily commute. It’s mostly just us working with our hands. We don't have any big signs or fancy marketing. People find us because they’ve heard we do a solid job or they just see us working as they walk past. The view of the Hawa Mahal is nice, though we’re usually too busy looking at the stitches to notice it much. It gets really hot in the summer, but the breeze from the road helps a little. We just take one job at a time and try to finish it before the sun goes down. It’s simple work, but it keeps us busy and the bills paid.
