If you go down Gheewalon ka Rasta in Johari Bazar, you will find us at number 12. Shri Radhu Govind Misthan Bhandar is right in the thick of things. This part of the city is always moving, especially with all the shoppers and tourists around. The air usually smells like sugar and frying snacks because we are always making something. It’s an old building, so it has some character, even if the walls could use a bit of paint here and there. We have the sweets displayed in the front so people can see what’s fresh. It’s a noisy street with scooters honking and people shouting, but that’s just Johari Bazar for you. Inside the shop, it’s a bit cooler. We have a few staff members who have been with us for a long time. They know exactly how to handle the rush during festivals when everyone wants the same thing at once. We don't really do much in the way of marketing. People just know where we are because we’ve been here. The floors get a bit sticky by the end of the day, but we give them a good scrub before closing up. It’s a lot of manual work, standing on your feet and packing boxes. We just keep the recipes simple and make sure there is enough for the afternoon crowd. It’s a busy life but we like being part of the market. It's just home to us now.
