Shree Kalyan Namkeen & Sweets

Shree Kalyan Namkeen & Sweets is at number 415 on the Chandpole Bazar Main Road. If you’ve ever been to the old city area, you know how crowded it gets there. The shop is right in the middle of all that chaos every single day. We have big bags of namkeen stacked up and trays of sweets in the front display. It’s a loud place because of the market outside, but we like the energy of the crowd. We start our frying early so the snacks are ready for the morning shoppers who come by. The spices we use are the ones we’ve always used. Nothing special or secret, just what tastes right to us. The shop is narrow, so we have to be very organized with how we store things so we don't trip over the sacks. Sometimes the cows walk right past the door and the rickshaws are always honking in the street. It’s just part of life in Chandpole Bazar. We don't do fancy packaging with bows. We just put things in plastic bags and weigh them out on the old scale. People come here because they know the taste doesn't change from year to year. I’ve been working here for a long time and the street looks mostly the same as it did when I started. We keep the counters wiped and the snacks fresh for whoever comes in. That’s just it.
