Shiva Gajak Bhandar Season House

We are over at Malviya Nagar 3/768. Shiva Gajak Bhandar Season House is where we make and sell our gajak. It’s mostly a winter thing, so we’re very busy when it gets cold outside. The smell of jaggery and sesame seeds is always in the air around the shop. We’ve been in this part of Malviya Nagar for a long time. The shop isn't very big, but we have enough room for the big pans and the heavy hammers we use to crush the sweets. It’s hard work, and your arms get really tired by the end of the day. During the off-season, we usually change what we sell in the season house to keep things going. We don't use any fancy machines; most of it is done by hand like it used to be. The neighborhood kids often hang around the door hoping for a scrap or a taste. We know almost everyone on the block. Sometimes the floor gets sticky from the sugar, and we have to scrub it down every single night before we go home. We aren't trying to be a big chain or anything. We just want to make stuff that tastes like home. My father started this business, and now I'm the one keeping it going. We don't have a glossy brochure.
