Out on Amer Road, near the New Ramgarh Mod, things never really slow down. We are Royal Treat, and we spend most of our time looking out the front window at the bikes and cars zooming by. It is a loud spot, but we like the energy of it. The shop has a few tables that have seen better days, and the walls have a couple of scuffs from people moving chairs around. We started out small and stayed that way because it works for us. Usually, there is the smell of food in the air and the sound of someone cleaning up in the back. It’s not a big corporate chain with a manual for everything. We just show up, open the shutters, and see who walks in. Some people stay for a while, others just grab what they need and head back out into the heat. We have a regular routine of checking the stock and making sure things are where they belong. The light in the corner flickers sometimes, and we keep saying we will fix it, but you get used to it after a week or two. It feels like a real part of the neighborhood, sitting right there on the edge of the road where everyone passes through. We don't have a big social media page or anything like that. People just know where we are because they see the sign when they are stuck in traffic at the Ramgarh Mod. The fan in the back makes a weird clicking sound sometimes, but we just ignore it. It’s part of the shop now. We have some old posters on the wall that have started to curl at the edges because of the humidity.
