Rashtriya Mishthan Bhandar

Our shop is located right in the middle of Kishanpole Bazar. It is one of those spots where you can always smell the sugar and ghee from the street. We get started very early in the morning, long before the sun is up, to prepare the batches of sweets for the day. There is always a lot of steam in the back room where the big iron pots are. Sometimes the floor gets a bit sticky, but we try to keep things moving. We make different kinds of mithai depending on what people are asking for that week. The counters are usually full by ten o'clock. It is a noisy place because the market outside is always loud with rickshaws and people shouting. We don't really have a big staff, just a few of us who have been doing this for years. Sometimes we run out of certain items by the evening if it has been a busy day. People come in for a quick snack or to take a box home for their family. The walls haven't been painted in a while, and the furniture is old, but it works for what we do. We don't do any fancy packaging or anything. We just wrap things up in paper and boxes like always. It is a simple life here in Kishanpole Bazar, making sure the trays are full and the customers get what they came for without much fuss. We just keep the doors open and the trays stacked as high as we can.
