We’ve been at 570 Bothra House for quite some time now. Kashi Nath Street is always busy, especially in the mornings when the local shops start opening up and the tea stalls get going. It’s a narrow lane in Gopal Ji Ka Rasta, so it’s always a bit of a squeeze getting through with all the bikes and people. Most days, we are just sitting here with the stones, sorting through things and talking to the people who walk in. It gets really hot in the afternoons, so we keep the old ceiling fans going all day. The gem business has been our life for a long time now, just doing the work as it comes without making much of a fuss. Sometimes the traffic outside is so loud you can’t hear yourself think, but that’s just how this part of town is. People around here know where to find us. We don’t have a big fancy sign or anything, just the usual setup that’s been here for years. It’s mostly about the daily routine of checking orders and making sure everything is where it should be on the desk. The neighbors are good people; we’ve known most of them since we first started. We usually have tea brought in around four o’clock from the stall nearby. If you come by then, it’s a bit more relaxed. There isn’t much else to say other than we just keep at it day after day. It’s a small place, packed with folders and little boxes, but it works for us.
