Primo Art Gallery

Primo Art Gallery is in a pretty famous spot, right opposite the Hawa Mahal. We are on the first floor of the Rang Behari Temple building. It is a beautiful area, though it is always swarming with tourists and people taking photos. We can see the Hawa Mahal from the windows, which is a view we never really get tired of. The gallery isn't some cold, white-walled space. It is a bit more lived-in than that. We have paintings and things leaning against the walls sometimes because we run out of hanging space. It is a bit of a maze getting through the rooms. We spend a lot of time talking to visitors who just wander in after seeing the sights. It is just a couple of us running the place. We do our own cleaning and dusting, which takes a while with all the stuff we have. It is not a polished corporate gallery at all. It is more like a collection of things we like. The floors are stone and stay cool even when it is boiling outside. Sometimes the monkeys from the temple area get a bit too close to the windows and we have to make sure they do not get in. It is a unique place to work, that is for sure. We do not have a fancy website or a big PR team. We just open the doors and see who comes in to look at the art.
