Posh Silver Palace

We are right in the Chameli Wala Market, just off M.I. Road. It’s a busy spot and we’ve been here a good long while. Despite the name "Posh Silver Palace," it’s actually a pretty humble place once you step inside. We have glass cases filled with silver ornaments and plates. The air usually smells like the polish we use to keep everything looking bright. It’s a lot of work to keep silver from tarnishing in this weather, so someone is always rubbing something with a cloth. We get all sorts of people walking in, from tourists wandering off the main road to regulars looking for a gift. My uncle started the business and he still comes in most days to check on things. We don't have a big website or anything like that. We mostly just talk to people who walk through the door. The market can be a bit overwhelming if you aren't used to it, with all the shops squeezed together. We have a small back room where we keep the extra stock and an old safe that's older than I am. It’s a simple life, really. We open up in the morning, dust the shelves, and wait to see who comes by. It’s not about being the fanciest place on the street, just about having things people want to buy. If the tea man is nearby, we usually get a round for the staff.
