Our campus is out in the Riico Institutional Complex in Sitapur. It’s a bit of a trek from the main part of Jaipur, right near the Mahatma Gandhi Hospital. The Goner Road gets pretty dusty with all the trucks passing by. Inside the gates, it’s mostly concrete and brick buildings. The labs are usually full of students trying to fix things or writing code on old monitors. We’ve got some trees, but they don’t provide much shade when the sun is really hitting the Rajasthan ground. The canteen is where most people hang out between classes, usually complaining about the heat or the next set of exams. You’ll see piles of books and bags everywhere in the hallways. The library is probably the quietest place, but even there, you hear the hum of the air units. We don’t have fancy lounges, just some benches where students sit and talk. The office is always busy with people asking about forms or fees. It’s a big place, so you end up doing a lot of walking from one building to another. Most of us have been working here for years and we’ve seen the area around Sitapur grow a lot. It used to be much emptier around here. Now, there’s always something going on, especially with the hospital so close by. The parking lot is always a mess of motorcycles and a few cars, all covered in a layer of fine sand by noon.
