Poonam Arts

You will find our place at 34, Nandpuri (C), which sits in the 22 Godam area. This part of town has a lot of history and you can find all sorts of different businesses packed in side by side. At Poonam Arts, we share our street with a lot of heavy workshops and big warehouses. Our building isn't anything special to look at if you're just passing by, it has a plain front and a metal door that likes to stick a bit whenever the monsoon rains start. Once you get inside, the space is usually filled up with whatever projects we are working on that week. There is usually a bit of a mess with various tools or raw materials scattered across the floor. We don't mind the clutter because it means we are actually busy doing the work. The neighborhood can get quite loud, mostly because of the train tracks nearby and the constant sound of heavy trucks moving through 22 Godam. We usually keep a small radio playing in the corner to help drown out some of that outside noise. It is a bit of a walk from the nearest bus stop, but we are used to the trek. We have one small desk for the bills and a much larger area where the actual creating happens. It’s a very simple and basic setup. We don't have a reception desk or a waiting room. If someone comes to see us, they usually just grab a wooden stool in the middle of the room.
