Pachak

We’ve been here at E-12 in GT Bazar for a good while now, just doing our thing with the digestive treats and mouth fresheners everyone knows as Pachak. Malviya Nagar is a busy area, especially around the market where people are always rushing somewhere. Our shop is just a small spot, nothing too fancy, with shelves lined with jars of all sizes. Most days start with us wiping down the counters and checking the stock to see what’s running low. You can smell the different salts and dried fruits as soon as you step inside. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze when more than two or three people come in at once, but we make it work. Customers usually drop by after they’ve had their lunch or dinner nearby. They look through the glass to pick out what they want, maybe some dried mango or the salty seeds. We spend a lot of time just talking to the regulars who have been coming here for years. The floor gets a bit dusty from the street traffic outside, and the noise of the bikes in GT Bazar is something you just get used to after a week. It’s not a quiet job, but it keeps us busy. We don’t really do much advertising or anything like that. People just know where we are at E-12. We just focus on keeping the jars full and making sure the shop stays open when people expect it to be.
