Khandelwal Flour Mills

Khandelwal Flour Mills has been here at Chandpole Bazar for quite some time now. If you walk down Govindrav Ji Ka Rasta and get to the Chotha Chauraha, you will find us at 2441 2485. It’s a busy spot with lots of noise from the street and the sound of the machines running inside. We spend most of our mornings getting the grinders ready. There is always a bit of dust in the air because of the grain, but that is just how it is in this kind of work. People from around the neighborhood stop by throughout the day. Some carry their own sacks, others just want a small amount. We don't really do much fancy talking here. We just focus on the task at hand and try to get the bags filled so people aren't waiting too long. The shop isn't very large, but we make it work with the space we have. Sometimes the heat gets a bit much in the afternoon, especially when all the equipment is going at once. We keep the doors open to catch whatever breeze comes through the bazaar. It is a simple life here at the mill. We see the same faces every week. It feels good to be a part of the daily routine for the local families around Jaipur. We keep things moving, one bag at a time, until it is time to close up and go home.
