Gustora Foods Pvt Ltd operates out of B.227 in the Industrial Area Extension. It’s a big warehouse-style building with a lot of metal and concrete. Our work is mostly about the production line. We make a lot of pasta, and you can feel the heat from the extruders as soon as you walk in. The air is thick with the smell of semolina. We have different shifts, so the building is almost never completely empty. There’s a rhythm to the sounds of the machines that you eventually get used to. The floor is painted grey and we have yellow lines to show where to walk so you don't get in the way of the pallet jacks. Our office is upstairs, looking out over the production floor through a big window. It’s a bit noisy up there too, but it’s where we handle all the logistics. We have a small canteen where everyone sits together for lunch, usually talking about the news or what’s happening in the area. The Industrial Area is a bit out of the way, so it’s quiet outside at night, but inside we keep things moving. We spend a lot of time cleaning the equipment between batches. It’s hard work, and by the end of the day, everyone is ready to go home. We just focus on making sure the bags are filled and the boxes are taped shut and ready for the morning.
