Our place is out at Road No 10, E 221 in VKIA. It is an industrial area so it is not very quiet or clean. There are trucks moving in and out all day long. Here at Katyani Products Pvt Ltd, we have a big shed where the production happens. The machines make a lot of noise and there is always a bit of grease on the floor. We have an office in the front but it is mostly used for filing papers and taking calls. Most of the time we are on the floor checking the items. We make various products and it requires a lot of attention to detail. The workers have been with us for a long time and we know their families. It gets very hot in the summer under the tin roof so we have large coolers running. It is a lot of logistics, moving raw materials in and finished goods out. We don't do much marketing or talk about ourselves much. We just focus on the orders we have. The road outside is often broken because of the heavy lorries. We have a small gate and a security guard who sits there all day. It is a very different vibe from the city markets. It is about manufacturing and meeting schedules. We eat our lunch together in the small break room. It is hard work but it keeps us busy and the machines running until late in the evening.
