Ocean Exim India Pvt Ltd is based at D - 138, Basant Marg Bani Park. This part of the city is actually quite nice, a bit quieter than the industrial zones where many other companies are. Our office is in a converted space that feels a bit more like a home than a cold business center. It’s got high ceilings and some old wooden doors that creak when you open them. We have several rooms filled with desks and samples. It’s not always the most efficient layout, and we spend a lot of time walking from one room to another to talk to each other. We do a lot of export work, so there are always stacks of shipping documents and labels lying around. Sometimes the printer jams right when we need it, which is always frustrating. We have a small garden area in the front where we go to get some air when the work gets a bit too much. Most of us have been working here at D - 138 for a few years now, so we’re like a small family. We know who likes their coffee black and who takes several spoons of sugar. We don’t have any polished presentations or corporate speeches. We just talk about what needs to be shipped and who is handling which client. It’s a straightforward way to spend the day.
