Channi Carpets & Textiles

We are located right on Mount Road, just across from Ramgarh Road. It’s a spot that gets a lot of sun in the afternoon. Inside Channi Carpets & Textiles, there is fabric and carpet everywhere you look. It’s a bit of a maze, honestly. We have rolls of textiles leaning against the walls and carpets stacked up on the floor. The colors are bright, but the room itself is just a regular workspace. We don’t have fancy lighting or anything like that. We just use the natural light coming through the front. People walking by on Mount Road often peek in, but we’re usually too busy measuring or moving things to notice much. The floor is mostly concrete, which stays cool. We keep a few chairs in the back for when things slow down, but that doesn't happen often. Handling textiles all day means there are always little threads on our clothes. It’s just part of the job. Being opposite Ramgarh Road means there’s a lot of back and forth with the traffic. You hear the buses and the bikes all day long. We keep the shop open late most days because that’s when people seem to be out. It’s a straightforward place. We just focus on the carpets and the fabric. There isn't any big story behind it, just us showing up and doing the work every morning. It feels like a local shop should, a bit cluttered and very real.
