Out in the VKI Area, specifically at S 707A on Road No. 6, things are pretty industrial. That’s where Ceramic Tableware Pvt. Ltd is located. If you come by, you’ll see plenty of dust because that’s just what happens when you work with ceramics. We make plates, bowls, and all sorts of things you’d find on a dinner table. The kilns make the place really warm, especially during the summer months when the heat is already a lot to handle. We have workers who have been with us for twenty years, and they know the clay better than anyone. It’s a noisy place with the sounds of machines and trolleys being pushed across the concrete floor. We don't have a fancy office upstairs. Our desks are right near the action so we can see what’s being fired in the ovens. Sometimes a batch comes out wrong and we have to start all over again, which is frustrating, but that’s the nature of the business. We don't spend much on advertising because the products usually speak for themselves once people see them. Our days are long, starting before the sun gets too high and ending when the last kiln is shut down for the night. It’s a lot of physical labor and getting your hands gray with clay. We’re just a bunch of people trying to make good stuff that people can actually use in their homes every day. It’s messy work but someone has to do it.
