Object D Arts

Object D Arts is located at 49-50 Hawa Mahal Road. Being so close to such a famous landmark means we are right in the path of everyone visiting the city. The street is always packed with people, rickshaws, and cows, especially in the evenings. Our shop is quite old and the rooms are packed from floor to ceiling with all sorts of items. It is a bit of a jumble, to be honest. We spend a lot of time just moving things around so we can find what someone is looking for. The dusting is a never-ending job because of the open front and the traffic outside. We sit on small stools near the entrance and watch the tourists take photos of the Hawa Mahal. Some people just come in to get away from the sun for a minute, and we don't mind. The walls are thick and have many layers of old paint. We don't have a website or any fancy catalogs. We just show people what we have on the shelves. Sometimes we drink tea with the owners of the shops next door. It’s a very social atmosphere on Hawa Mahal Road, even if it is a bit exhausting at times. We’ve seen the street change a lot over the years, but our little corner at 49-50 stays pretty much the same. It is just a part of the daily life here in the old city.
