Namkeen Ghar

Our shop is called Namkeen Ghar and we are located at 59 in Malviya Nagar. It’s a very straightforward kind of place. We don’t have any big signs or neon lights to attract people. Mostly, people find us just by the smell of the frying that drifts out. We spend most of our day in the back area, working with large iron vats. It’s hot and sweaty work, but we are well used to it by now. We make various types of salty snacks every single day. Everything is stored in big glass jars so you can see exactly what’s inside before you buy. We don't use any fancy packaging or colored bags. Usually, we just scoop it into a plain bag and weigh it on the old scale we've had forever. It’s a busy little corner of Malviya Nagar. We’ve seen kids grow up and start coming here with their own children over the years. That makes you realize how long you’ve been standing behind this same counter. We don't have any big corporate goals or anything. We just try our best not to burn the snacks. If something isn't right, we just throw it out and start over. Simple as that. The floors are swept every few hours because of all the crumbs that fall. It’s a messy job sometimes, but it’s our job and we take pride in it. We like the routine of it. Open the shop, fry the batches, and go home.
