Marbalous Arts

Marbalous Arts is located at 2 Gopalpura in the Gangotri Garden area. We work with marble and stone here. It’s a dusty job, so don't expect a clean office. We have pieces of stone all over the yard. Most of the time you can hear the sound of tools hitting the rock. It is a slow process, but we take our time with it. We don't have a big marketing budget or a fancy website. We just let the work be what it is. The Gangotri Garden spot is a good place for us because we have some room to move the heavy blocks around. We’ve been doing this for years. It’s a family-run kind of thing, really. We don't use big words to describe what we do. We just cut and shape the marble. Some pieces take longer than others. We don't have a slick sales pitch. If someone likes what they see, they tell us. It’s a very manual type of life. We are usually covered in some kind of stone dust by noon. That’s just part of it. The neighbors are used to the noise by now. We try to be honest about how long things take. Stone doesn't move fast. We like the physical nature of the work. It feels good to finish a piece after days of effort. It might look like chaos in the yard, but there is a system to where we put everything.
