Malmahal Art Gallery

We have this art gallery over on Goner Road, right by the Deshera Kothi in Govind Nagar. It is just a large room where we keep all the different paintings and some stone statues. Most of the work you see here is done by artists we have known for years. We don't have any of those fancy gallery lights, just some regular bulbs to show the colors of the paint. The floors are made of stone and they stay quite cold even in the summer. We spend a lot of time dusting the frames because the road outside gets very dusty with all the trucks passing by. It is a quiet part of the city. Not many people just happen to walk in, usually they are coming here specifically to see the art. We have some pieces just leaning against the walls because we have run out of space to hang them all up. My father started collecting these things a long time ago and then it slowly turned into this gallery. We have some very old traditional styles and some newer things that the younger people are making. We don't really sell anything online because we like people to actually see the work in person. The garden outside has a few trees and it is a peaceful place to spend an hour or two. We don't have a cafe or a gift shop, just the art. We open the doors every morning.
