Maharaja Art Gallery

We are tucked inside Samod Haveli. It’s an old building in Gangapole, and you can feel the history when you walk through the doors. The walls are thick, and it stays a bit cooler inside during the Rajasthan summers. We spend our days surrounded by frames and canvases. It’s quiet compared to the street outside. Most of our time goes into looking at pieces of art and making sure they are stored right. Sometimes tourists wander in, looking a bit lost, and we show them around. The lighting in here is a bit dim in certain corners, but it adds to the mood. We don't use a lot of big words to describe what we have. It’s just art. The courtyard is a nice place to take a break. We’ve been at this spot for a while now. Gangapole is a busy area, full of life and noise, but once you step into the Haveli, everything slows down. We keep the floors swept and the dust off the frames. It’s not a corporate office. It’s just a gallery where we work. We drink a lot of chai and talk about the weather or the news. It’s a peaceful way to spend the day, really. We just like being around beautiful things and the old stone walls. There is always a new project or a frame that needs fixing. We keep it simple and just do the work. It feels like home after all these years.
