Madho Misthan Bhandar

Madho Misthan Bhandar is located at number 134 on KGB Ka Rasta, right in the heart of Johari Bazar. This shop has been around for quite some time. We make sweets every morning. You can smell the sugar and milk from the street. Johari Bazar is always crowded, so it’s a bit of a squeeze getting here sometimes. My grandfather started this place, and now we just keep it going. We use big metal vats for the milk. It gets very hot in the back kitchen, especially during the summer. We don't have fancy packaging, just the usual boxes and paper. People come here for their daily fix of something sweet. Sometimes we run out of things by the evening if it's been a busy day. We don't have a website or anything like that. We just open the shutters early and stay until the sweets are mostly gone. The floor is old stone and it’s seen a lot of feet over the years. We keep the counters as clean as we can. It’s a family business, so there’s always someone related to me behind the counter. We know most of the people who walk through the door. It's just how life is in the bazar. It’s noisy and messy but it’s home for us.
