Madan Lal Roop Narayan

The shop is located at 840 Walon Ka Rasta in Bagru Chandpole Bazzar. It is one of those old buildings with high ceilings and thick walls. You have to walk through a narrow lane to get here. We deal with various goods at Madan Lal Roop Narayan and the stock is usually piled up to the ceiling. It can be a bit overwhelming if you are not used to it. The air smells like old paper and fabric sometimes. We sit on the floor mostly because that is how things were always done here. There is a small desk for the accounts but the real work happens on the white sheets spread out. We get customers from all over who know the way through the market. It is easy to get lost if you don't know the turns. My brother and I take turns sitting here. We don't have any air conditioning so we leave the doors wide open. The street outside is full of people selling vegetables and bangles. It is very loud but we are used to the noise. We have been part of this bazaar for a long time. It is a family thing and we just keep it going as it was. Sometimes we have tea with the neighbors and talk about how much the city has changed. The shop doesn't look like much from the outside but it is full of history. We just focus on getting the day's work done and keeping the inventory moving.
