Laxmi Sagar Sweets

Laxmi Sagar Sweets is located on Calgiri Road in Malviya Nagar. This neighborhood has changed a lot over the years, but we’ve stayed right here on this corner. It’s a family-run kind of thing, and we spend most of our hours behind the counter or in the back room where the stoves are. The street gets quite packed with traffic, so we see a lot of people stopping their scooters for a quick box of something. We don't have fancy packaging or a big social media page. We just put the sweets in the display cases and sell them until they run out. Some days are faster than others. We start early in the morning, getting the milk and sugar ready before the sun is even fully up. It’s a lot of standing and moving around. The shop is simple, with just enough room for customers to stand and pick what they want. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We are just a sweet shop on Calgiri Road. If the floor is a bit dusty from the road outside, we just sweep it again. It’s honest work. We know most of the families around Malviya Nagar because they’ve been coming to us for years. We just keep the recipes the same and keep the doors open. We just want to make sure the neighborhood has what it needs for tea time or a small celebration.
