Mira Art Collection

You can find us at Hasanpura C in Kamla Nehru Nagar. Mira Art Collection isn't a big gallery with spotlights and fancy carpets. It’s more like a storage space where we keep all the different pieces we’ve collected over the years. We have shelves and boxes filled with all sorts of things, from small trinkets to larger items. The neighborhood is mostly residential, so it stays pretty quiet during the day. I spend a lot of my time just moving things around to make more room. It gets a bit dusty because of the open windows, so there is always some cleaning to do. My cousin comes by a few days a week to help me with the inventory. We don't have a huge marketing budget or a big sign outside. Most people who come here found out about us from a friend. We have a small table where we sit and drink chai while looking over the new items. The light in the afternoons is really nice; it hits the front of the shop and makes everything look warm. We’ve stayed in Kamla Nehru Nagar because the rent is fair and the people are friendly. It’s a simple setup. We just like collecting things and showing them to anyone who is interested. Sometimes the narrow streets make it hard for people to park, but they usually find a spot eventually.
