Kalaneri Art Gallery

We are over here on Jln Marg, right by The Royals Sb 1. It’s a decent sized space where we put up different paintings and some sculptures when we get them. Most days it is pretty quiet in the gallery, except for when we are changing the exhibits. That usually involves a lot of bubble wrap and moving heavy frames around the floor. We don’t have a fancy cafe or anything like that, just the art on the walls and some benches if your feet get tired. The light comes in through the front windows in the morning which is nice for looking at the oil paintings. Sometimes students come in to sketch, and they usually stay for a few hours in the corner. We’ve been in this building for a while now. It’s got high ceilings which helps when we have larger pieces to show. The floor is concrete, nothing special, but it works for what we do. If you walk past the main road, you can see our sign. We keep the doors open when the weather is good to let some air in. It isn’t some big corporate museum, just a place where local stuff gets put up so people can see it. We spend a lot of time dusting the frames and making sure the labels are straight, though sometimes they still end up a bit crooked. It’s just how it goes when you’re doing it all yourself.
