Jaipur Garnet

You can find Jaipur Garnet up on the second floor of Jaipur Tower at 221, M.I. Road. Being in an office building is a bit different from having a shop right on the street. It is quieter, and we do not get as many random people walking in to look around. We spend most of our time looking at stones under the magnifying glass. The light in room 221 is pretty good during the day, which helps when we are sorting through the different garnets. We have these small plastic bags everywhere, each filled with different sizes and shades. Sometimes we stay late to finish an inventory count. The elevators in this building are a bit slow and jerky, so we usually just take the stairs. It is good exercise for us. We deal with a lot of suppliers and people who make jewelry for a living. It is not all pretty gems and sparkles; there is a lot of paperwork and phone calls involved. My desk is covered in old invoices and a couple of tea mugs that need washing. We do not have any fancy displays here. If you want to see something, we just pull it out of the safe and lay it on a piece of white paper. It is a straightforward business. We have been in this tower for a while now, and we know the security guards and the other tenants. M.I. Road is loud, but it is quiet up here.
