Indian Fine Art is the name we use, but most people around here just call us Raja Arts. We are located at 314 Old Amer Road. If you find the first petrol pump, we are right behind it. It’s a good spot because people can pull over easily, though the road is usually quite dusty from all the traffic going by. We deal with paintings and various art pieces. It’s not like a museum; it’s more like a workshop where things are being made and moved all the time. The floor has paint spills on it that we stopped trying to scrub off a long time ago. We have some benches where we sit and work on the frames. It’s a bit messy with all the brushes and jars everywhere. Sometimes tourists stop by on their way to the forts, and we show them what we have. We don’t have a salesperson who wears a suit. Usually, I’m just in my old clothes with some charcoal or paint on my shirt. My brother helps me keep track of what we’ve sold. We don’t have a big air conditioner, just the open door and some fans. It gets the job done. We’ve been behind this petrol pump for years and we don’t plan on moving anywhere else anytime soon. It’s just our way of living and we like the work.
